IWM Devotional: God Keeps His Promises

Scripture: “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” — Numbers 23:19

Word for today

Faithfulness and promises go hand in hand. God’s faithfulness is revealed in His promises, words spoken with authority and love that never fail. Unlike human promises, which can falter or be forgotten, God’s promises are sure, reliable, and eternal.

Sometimes His promises arrive differently than we imagined. What we hoped for, prayed for, or needed may come in unexpected ways, but God never fails to act. Each fulfilled promise is a reminder of His trustworthiness, and each delayed promise invites us to trust Him more deeply.

When we anchor our hope in God’s promises, we gain courage to move forward with confidence, knowing He is always working behind the scenes for our good. His Word is true, and His love never changes.

Personal Application

Reflect on a promise God has fulfilled in your life, or one that is still awaiting fulfillment. Thank Him for what He has done, and trust Him for what is yet to come. Let His promises strengthen your faith today.

Prayer

My Father, thank You that Your promises are true and unwavering. Help me to trust You fully, even when I cannot see the outcome. Let my heart rest in Your faithfulness, knowing You always keep Your Word. Amen.
