God Was With You
IWM Devotional: God Was With You
Scripture: “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” —Deuteronomy 31:8
“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.” — Zephaniah 3:17
Word for Today
If there is one thing I am absolutely certain of, it is this: God has never left my side. Even in those moments that drained me, when I felt I had nothing left to give, it was His strength carrying me through. I did not, and could not, make it on my own. Today, I can testify with confidence that I have emerged victorious, not because the journey was easy, but because He held my hand every step of the way. I am grateful that God allowed me to speak about it now, from a place of triumph, knowing that what once threatened to break me only strengthened me in Him.
As I reflect on my own journey, I realize that we all have these moments, moments where we felt alone, but in truth, God was with us every step of the way. There are moments in life when we look back and only see the pain, the confusion, or the seasons where God felt silent. Yet even when His presence felt distant, God was with you. He has always been there. In every hard decision, every tear cried in private, every step taken in faith or fear, He never left your side.
Often, we don’t recognize God’s nearness until we reflect. In the quiet moments of reflection, God reveals His fingerprints on our lives, showing us where He was working, even when we couldn’t see it at the time. What once felt like abandonment becomes evidence of His protection. What felt like delay reveals itself as divine preparation. God was with you in the waiting, He was with you in the breaking, and He was with you in the becoming. He was steady when everything else felt unstable.
We all carry stories of endurance, times we had to be strong when we felt weak, times we showed up when our hearts were heavy. God saw those moments. He strengthened you when you didn’t know how you made it through. His presence was not dependent on your awareness of Him; it was constant, faithful, and intentional.
The journey of becoming is not just about enduring but about being shaped, molded, and refined by His love and purpose. Recognizing that God has always been with you brings comfort and confidence. It reminds us that the same God who sustained us then is still walking with us now, and will continue to guide us forward.
Personal Application
Take a moment to reflect on a season that felt challenging. Where do you see God’s faithfulness in that season? Thank Him for His presence, even when it wasn’t obvious.
Prayer
God, thank You for never leaving me, even in the hardest moments. Help me to recognize Your presence and trust You in every step. Strengthen me and guide me forward with confidence in Your faithfulness. Amen.
