IWM Devotional: Bloom Where God Has Planted You – Part 2
David: Faithful Before the Platform
Scripture: “The Lord does not see as man sees… the Lord looks at the heart.”— 1 Samuel 16:7
Word for Today
Yesterday, we talked about faithfulness where God has planted us. Now, we look more closely at what that faithfulness looks like when no one is watching. I believe we are familiar with the story of how Samuel anointed David, but let's focus on david. (1Sam 16:1-13)
Before David ever stood before a nation, he stood alone in a field. No audience. No affirmation. Just responsibility.
As women, especially women called to ministry or leadership—it can feel discouraging when our gift isn’t visible yet. When we know there’s a call on our lives, but the season we’re in feels quiet, slow, or even overlooked. David’s story gently reminds us that God does not anoint platforms; He anoints hearts.
David’s faithfulness with sheep wasn’t a delay, that was preparation.
In the field, David learned how to listen. How to protect what was entrusted to him, how to depend on God when no one else was around, what seemed insignificant was actually pure. And the same God who saw David in the field sees you. He sees the sermons you prepare that no one hears yet, He sees the prayers you pray for others when no one prays for you, He sees the obedience that feels unnoticed and unrewarded.
God is not rushing your process, because He cares deeply about what you’re becoming, not just where you’re going. And I want to speak to you as one woman to another.
You are sure of your calling. You know God has sent you. He has placed a gift in your hands, given you a purpose, and chosen you to walk this path. That is not small, but holy. And the first thing I want you to do is respect that gift with gratitude. Thank God every day for entrusting you with it. Honor it, keep doing good, keep walking faithfully, even when the world doesn’t seem to notice.
I also want you to hear this, Everyone has their season and their time. Yours will come, and when it does, you will know it. You won’t miss it. God’s timing is perfect, and He doesn’t overlook a faithful heart. But until that moment, you must keep walking the journey. Keep serving, keep praying, keep being faithful.
Yes, the path can feel long. Yes, the sacrifices can feel heavy. But let me tell you something I’ve learned, it is worth it. Every lonely day, every unseen act, every “small” moment of obedience is shaping you for the purpose God has called you to. One day, you’ll look back and see that the waiting, the preparation, the obedience, all of it—was exactly what you needed to bloom fully where God placed you.
Prayer
Father, Help me to be faithful where You have placed me. Teach me to honor the hidden season, trusting that You are shaping my heart for what’s ahead. When I feel unseen, remind me that You see me fully. I trust Your timing. Amen

Continue helping me Lord to remain faithful at all times 🙏
