Confidence Through Our Identity in Christ

IWM Devotional: Confidence Through Our Identity in Christ

Key Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Word for Today

Confidence is strengthened when identity is settled. Many believers struggle with insecurity not because they lack faith, but because they lack clarity about who they are in Christ. Our confidence is not formed by past experiences, failures, or successes; it is anchored in the reality of our new life in Him.

In Christ, we are not defined by who we were, but by who He has made us. Redemption brings transformation, and transformation produces assurance. So when identity is rooted in Christ, comparison loses its grip, and fear no longer dictates our steps. “You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:26).

The more we align our self-perception with God’s truth, the more confidently we walk in purpose. Identity in Christ is not something we strive to earn; it is a gift we are called to receive and live out daily.
