Salvation 3: Saved to Shine
IWM Devotional: Salvation 3: Saved to Shine
Scripture: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14
Word for Today
Salvation never ends with us. It flows through us. When you are saved, you carry light. Not a spotlight on yourself, but the light of Christ living within you. The same Jesus who rescued you now sends you. Your story matters, your voice matters, and your obedience matters more than you may realize.
In this generation, God has given us more than streets and marketplaces. He has given us platforms. Our phones, our timelines, our stories, our captions, and our conversations are modern-day mission fields. Social media is not just a place to scroll, post, and observe. It is a place to reflect the goodness of our Heavenly Father.
You do not have to be loud or perfect to preach the gospel. Sometimes it is sharing what God has done for you. Sometimes it is choosing kindness in a space filled with anger. Sometimes it is speaking hope where people feel unseen. When you present God as loving, faithful, and present, you are shining His light.
Jesus said His food, His satisfaction, was to do the Father’s work. As daughters of God, we are called to carry that same hunger. Whether on the street, in the workplace, in your home, or on your digital platforms, you are sent. Every space you occupy becomes holy when you allow God to use you there.
Let me share a story with you. I once posted something simple online—just a short message, nothing elaborate. Later, someone reached out, saying how it blessed them, encouraged them, and even changed the way they looked at God. And it wasn’t just one person. God had reached multiple hearts through a simple act of obedience. Sisters, the lesson is clear, you don’t need to do what everyone else is doing. You don’t need to copy anyone. God calls each of us to shine in the place He has placed us.
You do not need a large following to make an impact. You need a willing heart. Just one post, one conversation, one act of obedience can point someone toward salvation. Light does not announce itself. It simply shines.
I'll tell you something, saved women shine. They love boldly. They speak truth gently. And they show the world what a good Father looks like. Remember this today, you were saved not just from something, but for something.
So go. Shine. Tell the story.
Prayer
Father God, thank You for saving me and filling me with Your light. Help me to shine boldly and humbly in every space You have placed me, including the platforms You have given me. Use my voice, my story, and my obedience to point others to You. Give me courage to share Your goodness and wisdom to represent You well. Let my life reflect Your love in a way that draws others to salvation. I surrender my influence to You today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
