Salvation 5: Relying on God
IWM Devotional: Salvation 5: Relying on God
Scripture: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13
Word for Today
Sharing the gospel, extending forgiveness, and walking in faith is not something we can do on our own. It’s not a self-driven task. People may look at you and see boldness, patience, or wisdom, but underneath it all, it is God working through you. Without Him, even the simplest acts of faith can feel impossible.
Today's devotional is a reminder to let the God who is powerful fill you and strengthen you. He equips the ordinary to accomplish extraordinary things. He guides the steps of those willing to follow. He restores hearts that feel weak or overwhelmed.
Don’t try to do more than He asks. Don’t rely on your own strength or human methods. Listen for His voice. Follow His leading. Sometimes, that means waiting. Sometimes, it means acting boldly. But always, it means obeying what He has shown you, not what others say or what feels impressive.
God’s work is always supernatural. Your role is to remain faithful, humble, and responsive. Let Him direct your words, your decisions, and your influence. Trust that His power works best through surrendered hearts, not overworked human effort.
Nevertheless, do not wait to feel fully ready. Rely on God. Begin where you are. Jesus draws people to Himself. But like i mentioned earlier, remain faithful, compassionate, and available, and allow God to do what only He can do.
Prayer
My Father, I acknowledge that I cannot do this on my own. Fill me with Your power and strengthen me in every task You have called me to do. Teach me to hear Your voice clearly and to follow Your leading faithfully. Help me to rely on You fully, to avoid doing what You have not asked, and to walk in obedience with confidence. Let Your Spirit work through me so that Your glory is revealed and Your purposes are fulfilled. In Jesus’ name, amen
