IWM Devotional – GOD IS SPIRIT 3: WORSHIPPING HIM IN TRUTH

Scripture: John 4:23 (KJV) — “The true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

Word for Today

Worshiping in truth is just as essential. Truth means worship that is aligned with who God truly is and with His Word. It is not based on tradition, emotions, or convenience, but on revelation and obedience.

Jesus prayed in John 17:17, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”

We worship God as He has revealed Himself—not as we imagine Him to be, and not according to our feelings or preferences. We worship Him as Scripture reveals Him, holy, loving, righteous, and faithful.

We see a clear example in Genesis 4 with Cain and Abel. Both brought offerings, but only Abel’s was accepted. Why? Abel’s worship was offered in faith and obedience, according to God’s truth. Cain worshiped outwardly, but his heart was misaligned.

My sisters, truth matters in worship.

At the heart of it all, this is what I am saying, God desires worship that is heartfelt and honest, guided by His Spirit and grounded in His truth.

It is not about where you worship—church, home, prayer meeting, or quiet room. It is about from where within you the worship flows.

The Father Himself is seeking such worshippers. Not perfect women, not flawless rituals. But women whose hearts are fully turned toward Him.

Will you be that woman today?

Prayer

Father, align my worship with Your Word and who You truly are.
Remove every false image or tradition that misrepresents You in my heart.
Make me a true worshipper whose life and worship please You.
