Do you know what it truly takes to stand out among many people? Not just anyone stands out in a crowd. In the story of Esther, there were many beautiful virgins presented before the king. These were women who were pure, prepared, and carefully selected. In those days, virgins were highly respected and considered precious. Many men desired to marry such women because purity symbolized honor and dignity.
Yet among all of them, Esther was chosen. What made her different? That difference is what we call the favour of God. Favour is the divine advantage that makes a person stand out even when others have similar qualifications. It is when God places His hand upon someone and causes them to shine differently.
But Esther’s favour did not come randomly. There were things about her life that attracted it. Esther had a humble and good heart. She was not driven by pride or selfish ambition. People who carry God’s favour often have hearts that seek the good of others. God is drawn to purity of heart and sincerity.
When God’s hand is upon a person, it becomes visible. They shine differently. Doors open that human effort alone cannot open. The Bible reminds us that those who call upon the name of the Lord will not be put to shame. Esther prayed and sought God. Her victory was not just beauty or preparation, it was divine intervention.
It is important to understand that favour is not something we only wish for. We must pray for it and prepare for it.
Sometimes God has assignments for our lives. Sometimes He positions us for opportunities, impact, or influence. When we align ourselves with Him, He marks us for wonders. When God’s favour is upon your life, obstacles cannot stop what He has already ordained.
The favour of God is not ordinary. It is a powerful fragrance that surrounds a person’s life and makes room for them where others struggle.
What Is the Favour of God? The favour of God is divine kindness, approval, and grace that causes a person to receive opportunities, help, and blessings they may not naturally qualify for.
Favour can do in minutes what human effort might struggle to achieve in years. I want to share something personal with you. There was a time I went to the bank. If you live in Nigeria, you understand how stressful bank visits can be, especially after the pandemic. The queues are long, and sometimes the process is exhausting.
As I entered the bank that day, I was already worried about how stressful the process would be. But I prayed a very simple prayer, “Lord, please take charge.” That was all.
Suddenly, one of the bank officials noticed me and decided to help me through the entire process. Even tasks that were not part of her responsibility, she referred me to the right people and ensured everything moved smoothly. From the middle of the crowd, I was helped. It surprised me because I didn’t know her, and she didn’t know me. But God used her to make everything easy. That is the favour of God.
I pray for you reading this today, May God favour you. May He cause men and women to show you kindness. May He grant you access to places where others struggle to enter. May the hearts of people and the doors of destiny open for you. And may the favour of God speak for you in places where your voice cannot reach.
Never take the favour of God for granted. Because when God’s favour is upon your life, it can change everything.

Favour of God I receive today. Amen
