Word for Today

There is a message that I have noticed, that echoes throughout the Christian life, one that is both simple but deeply challenging, love one another. Now, please note this, not the convenient kind of love, I am not talking about the love that shows up only when people deserve it. But the very kind of love that reflects the very heart of God.

As I was preparing this, I was reminded of a particular scripture that has always spoken to my heart. There’s something about it that feels both very direct and deeply personal. I remember a time when I even placed it among the verses on my little scripture wall because I wanted to see it often and be reminded of it daily. So as we continue, I’d love for us to pause and read it together. Please open your Bible with me, or simply read along with me.

1 John 3:11, “For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.”

From the very beginning of our walk with Christ, the message has always been love. John 14:34-35, John 4:7, Romans 13:10. Even our father demonstrated how powerful it can be and this can be seen in the very popular scripture, John 3:16. It’s not meant to feel complicated or like some deep theology that’s Very hard to understand. And it’s certainly not meant to feel like an impossible standard we can never reach. Instead, it’s something simple, real, and meant to be lived, daily, quietly, and sincerely.

Sister, walking in love is not always about grand gestures. No. Often it shows up in the little moments, a patient word, a gentle response, a willingness to listen instead of judging them. It is choosing grace when offense would be easier. And this is the beautiful truth i love so much, that our love for others flows from God’s love for us. Yes it’s.

Just as we read in our key scripture. Now, Think about that for a moment. The love we receive from God is not meant to stop with us. It is meant to move through us, touching families, workplaces, friendships, and even strangers. And that is absolutely true. Because when you have truly received the love of Christ, when you have welcomed Him into your life and genuinely love Him, something begins to change in your heart. You naturally desire to honor Him. And part of honoring Him is keeping His commandments.

And one of the clearest ways we do that is by loving others. Let me share a small but powerful picture of what this can look like.

Imagine a woman at work who always sits quietly during lunch. She keeps to herself, rarely speaks, and others assume she simply prefers to be alone. Weeks go by and no one truly notices her. Then one day, another woman walks over, sits beside her, and says warmly, “Would you like to join us? We’d love to have you.” Just a simple invitation right?.

What that woman didn’t know was that the quiet coworker had just moved to the city, felt deeply lonely, and had been silently wondering if anyone even noticed her. That one moment of kindness changed everything. Conversations started. Walls slowly came down. Laughter began to fill those lunch breaks. And the woman who once felt invisible began to feel seen, welcomed, and valued.

Now, I will tell you what happened, Love did that. Not a sermon. Not a dramatic moment. Just a small act of genuine care.  I have had countless times where I really felt good just because God’s children (that’s what I call them), who truly know how to put smile on peoples face have showered me with love and by His grace I have also done same to others and will never stop doing that. Because people are going through stuffs. And the least you can do is not be part of their worries.

Sometimes the love we show becomes the very thing that heals a heart, restores someone’s confidence, or reminds them that they matter.

When we walk in love, something beautiful happens. People feel safe around us. They feel free to be themselves. They feel welcomed rather than judged, like i mentioned earlier. They feel seen rather than overlooked. This kind of love brings people together. It softens misunderstandings, bridges differences, and opens doors for deeper connection. And the world desperately needs women who carry that kind of spirit.

Because when love leads the way, grace follows closely behind.

So today, beloved sister, let this be our quiet commitment, Love that coworker who may be having a difficult day. Show kindness to the neighbor who lives next door. Respect and uplift other women instead of competing with them.

Choose to see people the way our Creator sees them, valuable, worthy, and deeply loved. Because When we walk in love, we reflect the very heart of God. And sometimes, the smallest act of love becomes the very thing that changes someone’s world.

Prayer

Teach us to walk in love just as You have loved us. Help us to see others through Your eyes-with compassion, kindness, and grace. May our words and actions bring healing, unity, and welcome to those around us. Let Your love flow through us each day. In Jesus name, Amen.

Do have a blessed day sisters, and please remember that love is not just a teaching of Christ, it is the evidence of a life transformed by Him.
