Word for Today
Have you ever found yourself standing at the crossroads of a decision, as a mother, as a wife, wondering if you’re getting it right? The responsibilities can be Wearing you out. You want to nurture well, love deeply, build wisely. But sometimes, you just don’t even know the next step to take, and deep down you’re tired of trying to figure everything out by yourself.
I understand that place. It can be draining, mentally, emotionally, even spiritually, when every choice feels like it carries so much consequence. But here’s something we need to keep reminding ourselves, we’re not meant to figure out life all by ourselves. There’s something about honestly saying, “I don’t know what to do” that humbles you. But that’s actually where wisdom starts to come in.
As women of faith, we have to be careful not to fall into that quiet pressure of trying to figure everything out by ourselves. The world may praise doing it all on your own, but in God’s way, it’s different, we’re meant to depend on Him, to listen for His voice, follow His lead, and trust His wisdom.
Now when we talk about wisdom, we’re not just talking about being smart or experienced, we’re talking about God Himself. Wisdom is God revealed in direction.
It’s God showing us what He’s thinking right in the middle of our decisions. It’s learning to see things the way He sees them, make choices the way He would, and follow the path He has for us. Wisdom is not something we force or figure out by ourselves, it’s something God gives us, because He’s the one it comes from. So simply put, Wisdom is God guiding you. It’s God guiding everyone of us.
More times than we’d like to admit, we rush ahead of God, making choices because we feel pressured, emotional, or even because we think it’s the “right” thing, without asking Him first. But here’s the thing, wisdom isn’t just about making smart decisions; it’s about making choices that match God’s heart.
When we take a moment, when we calm our hearts, when we really look for His guidance before acting, everything changes. We start moving not out of worry, but out of confidence. Not out of fear, but out of faith.
And here’s the amazing part, God doesn’t hold back His wisdom. He gives it freely. There’s no limit, no “wait your turn,” no hidden reason to turn you away. You can go to Him as many times as you need, whether it’s a huge decision or a small one, and He won’t scold you for asking. James 1:5, showed us this so clearly, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” What a beautiful, comforting invite?. The God we serve is not far away, and He welcomes us, openly, generously, to come and ask.
And to you, dear woman reading this right now, please slow your heart for a moment. Wait for His voice. God’s voice is not found in haste, but in stillness. It is gentle, yet clear, quiet, yet unmistakably sure. Pay attention.
Be alert in your spirit. God often speaks in ways that require sensitivity. I will share a powerful prayer I always whisper to myself, “I declare that I’m sensitive to Gods voice”. But please note this, sensitivity can come through His Word, through a nudge in your heart, through a deep, unexplainable peace or even a loving check within. Do not ignore those moments. Train your heart to discern Him.
And please, do not rush into whatever it’s. So before you say yes, before you step in, before you carry that burden alone, ask Him. Ask Him in the quiet moments of your morning. Ask Him in the middle of your responsibilities. Ask Him when your heart feels unsure. Because the One who calls you to this life, this role, this journey, is also the One who equips you with the wisdom to live it well.
And you will find that His guidance is not only sufficient, it is steady, peaceful, and deeply reassuring. You are not alone in your decisions. You are led.
Not every open door is from God. Not every opportunity is an assignment. Sometimes, wisdom is found not in moving forward, but in waiting a little longer until you are certain it is Him leading you. I’m not talking about delay now, but certainty.
There is no reward in rushing ahead of God, but just like we’ve seen, there is safety, deep, abiding safety, in walking in step with Him.
So breathe, trust, and wait until His voice becomes your direction.
I pray for you today, that His Spirit of Wisdom will rest upon you. Amen.

Amen 🙏
