Word For Today

When we talk about confidence, we speak of the Godly one. And not arrogance. Self-confidence is not thinking you’re better than everyone else. But it’s simply knowing whose you are, and walking like it. And that’s you're of God, and you should know this, so you know what to accept and what not to accept as a true daughter of God. 

A lot of us have shrunk ourselves because we confuse humility with invisibility. We think staying small is godly. But God didn’t save you, gift you, and call you just so you could hide in the corner and apologize for taking up space. Confidence in the Kingdom starts with knowing that your worth isn’t up for debate; it was settled at the cross. So when you know God is with you, you no longer need everyone to agree with you. When you know He has equipped you, you stop waiting for permission to use what’s in your hands. When you know He’s called you, you stop freezing every time someone questions you.

David walked into Goliath’s camp with five stones and zero fear, not because David was fearless, but because he knew the God he represented. That’s godly confidence. It’s not self-reliance. It’s God-reliance that shows up in your posture, in your voice, and in your decisions.

Without it, you’ll let fear talk you out of opportunities. You’ll over-explain yourself. You’ll wait for someone else to validate what God already told you. But with Godly confidence, you speak clearly. You take the step, you set the boundary, and you sit in the room without stringing yourself down. And I don’t want us to see this as being too loud. Some of the most confident women I know speak softly. Confidence is a quiet assurance. It says, “I don’t have to prove myself. I just have to be faithful.”

God didn’t give you a spirit of fear. So stop living like He did. For Power, love, and a sound mind are yours. So walk like it.

Reflection

Where am I shrinking myself out of fear of being judged, rejected, or wrong? Or what would I do differently this week if I truly believed God was with me in it?

Prayer

Lord, I renounce the spirit of fear and timidity. Fill me with Your power, Your love, and a sound mind. Teach me to walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You are with me. Help me to speak, lead, and act from that place. Let my confidence point people to You, not to me. Amen.


You don’t need to feel ready. You just need to remember who goes with you.
