Word For Today
Have you ever prayed for something with everything in you, made plans around it, and then watched it slip through your fingers? Or watched it arrive months later, long after you’d stopped thinking about it?
That gap between “I want it now” and “it’s actually here” is where many of us grow weary. But it’s also where God does His deepest work. Delay does not mean denial. God is not late; He is intentional.
When a thing arrives too early, we are not yet able to carry it without being crushed by it. When it does not arrive at all, God is protecting us from what we cannot see. And when it comes after we have forgotten, it is because He has been working behind the scenes to ensure it blesses rather than breaks us.
That is why you do not need to lose hope. Trust God, and prepare for what you are trusting Him for. Our time is not the same as God’s time. Wait patiently, and act in faith while you wait, not by overthinking and doing nothing, but by moving forward in obedience.
Consider Joseph, who waited thirteen years. Abraham, who waited twenty-five years for Isaac. The disciples, who waited three days for a resurrection. God’s timing is shaped by what He is forming in you, around you, and through you. Your responsibility is not to force the timing. It is to remain faithful and to be ready when He moves.
Application
Write down one area where you feel delayed. Under it, write, “God, I trust Your timing more than my timeline.”
Prayer
Father, forgive me for treating Your timing as a problem to be solved. Help me to trust that You see what I cannot see. Teach me to be faithful in the waiting, and to believe that You make all things beautiful in their time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Dear woman, please rest in this truth, when the thing you are trusting God for arrives, whether it is marriage, a breakthrough, or trusting God for the gift of children, worry no more because you will be amazed. I pray you will be ready for it. Amen
God isn’t late. He is preparing what you asked for, and preparing you for it.
