WOMAN, UPGRADE YOURSELF (2)
IWM Devotion: WOMAN, UPGRADE YOURSELF (2)
Audio
Scripture: Proverbs 18:15, “An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge."
Word For Today
There are rooms your beauty cannot keep you in, there are conversations your silence cannot help you in. Proverbs 18:16 says, "A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great men." God wants you informed, skilled, and confident. Not for pride, but so you can stand with value and speak with wisdom.
Colossians 4:6 says your speech should be seasoned with salt so you know how to answer each person. And sometimes, what you don’t know can limit where you can stand. I believe in carrying God and knowing what you can offer and having an area of specialty that people will need your help to fill.
This is not to shame anyone, but to wake us up. Yes, you’re married, even if you have kids. While some seasons as a mother require you to manage things, please do something. Because you deserve to be heard, respected, and relevant. Prayer Is Good, 100 percent. But God expects us to grow. 2 Peter 1:5-8 tells us faith alone isn't enough. We are to add to our faith: virtue, knowledge.
Be a woman of God. Seek divine help. Trust God for direction. But don’t stop there. You can be a godly wife and mother and a woman of knowledge. Faith is powerful, but growth is your responsibility too. And it's never too late. Isaiah 43:19 says God is doing a new thing. He is not limited by your age or season.
So, woman, invest in yourself. Not tomorrow, not “when things settle.” Of course, we pray for that, but now. Because one day, opportunity will come, and it will not wait for you to start preparing. So start now. Learn something. Know something and become something. Because Education is not just for men. It is not just for “career women.” It is not something you push aside because you are busy taking care of others.
Reflection
What room has God been preparing me for that requires more capacity?
Prayer
Father, I refuse to stay small. Give me wisdom to know what to learn and discipline to follow through. Let my growth bring You glory and open doors for Your purpose in my life. Amen.
Spend 20 minutes today learning something new in your chosen area. Block time on your calendar for it this week. Because God is saying, “I didn't save you to just survive. I saved you to shine, to build, to lead, to influence."
