IWM Devotion: WOMAN, UPGRADE YOURSELF

Scripture: 2 Peter 1:5, “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge.”

 
Word For Today

Many women have been made to believe that their main purpose is to take care of the home, give birth, and support others. Yes, those things are important. Very important. But is that all you are? No. You are a human being with a mind. With ideas, with potential. You are not just here to survive, but you’re here to grow. And that growth does not happen by chance. It happens when you take some time to learn. 

Don’t Be Too Busy to Build Yourself. And that’s one of the biggest mistakes many women make. They are always busy, but not improving. Busy cooking, caring, running up and down. But when it comes to learning something new, upgrading themselves, or gaining knowledge, they tell you there is no time. 

But really, ladies, if you don’t make time to grow, one day life will force you to realize what you missed. Education is not only about going to school and getting a degree. It increases your value. It is about what you know, how you think, and what you can contribute. 

When you are informed, you speak with confidence. When you are skilled, you stand with value. When you are knowledgeable, you are not easily ignored.

You don’t need to know everything. But you must know something. Invest in yourself, learn a skill, take a course, read books. And understand how things work. Do not think you can’t do all of this even while you’re a mother. Don’t allow anyone to tell you that you’ve passed the age. My dear woman, you’re doing just fine, and you can still do something for yourself.

Men still value women who know their worth, and I think we will go deep on this in the next few days of our devotion. A man was married, but any time he had important meetings, professional events, or occasions where deep conversations were needed, he would take another woman along. Why?

Because his wife was not educated and could not fit into those spaces. Now let’s be clear before I start to get messages, lol. What that man did is not right. It is not something to support. But there is a lesson inside it. The world we live in requires more than just presence; it requires capacity. 

Reflection

Where have I been busy but not improving? What skill, knowledge, or area of growth has God been nudging me toward?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for creating me with purpose. Forgive me for staying stagnant out of busyness or fear. Give me hunger to grow. Help me see that upgrading myself is part of honoring You. Amen.
